Junior ‘B’
In the fifth round of the North League, we lost 4-18 to 3-8 against a strong Moneygall side in MacDonagh Park. We had the aid of the breeze in the first half and competed well against one of the favourites for the League. In the first quarter, we led 2-2 to 0-3. We raised three green flags from Jack Quinlisk, Pat Conway and Jack Mulcahy (free). At the interval, the game was all square: MacDonagh’s 3-6, Moneygall 2-9. On the cusp of half time, Moneygall had scored their second goal from a penalty. The visitors began to wrestle control of the game in the second half. Kilruane kept plugging away, but Moneygall were deserving winners.
