With a proud tradition stretching back to before the establishment of the GAA in 1884, Kilruane MacDonaghs is a club that is deeply embedded in the communities of Cloughjordan, Ardcroney and Kilruane.
History was made in late 2022 when the MacDonaghs GAA and Camogie clubs unanimously agreed to merge to form the single ‘Kilruane MacDonaghs GAA and Camogie Club’. This ‘new’ club will come into being on the 1st January 2024 with a membership of in excess of 800 members.
2023 to 2026 promises to be a very exciting time for the club. We enter into this period as 2022 County Senior Hurling Champions and 2022 Club of The Year. Our new development plan, covering the period 2023-2026, will include very ambitious targets for the development of our facilities.
‘Friends of MacDonaghs’ is aimed at enabling supporters of the club to contribute to the ongoing success and development of our club and teams. We have devised a number of options, all aimed at making the initiative accessible to businesses and individuals across our community and further afield
One of the key features of this new initiative is that we will, as a club and as a community, be ‘backing ourselves’. Our jerseys, and all club gear, will be re-branded with the ‘friendsofmacdonaghs.ie’ logo, and with our new club motto
‘One Club, One Community’
We have relaunched our club website ‘Kilruane.com’, which will play a pivotal role in the future. ‘Kilruane.com’ will host the details of all of our ‘Friends’ and include links to their business details, websites etc.
Our ‘Clubspot’ App launched in January 2023 and will show the details and links to all of our ‘Friends’.
