Kilruane MacDonaghs Weekly Notes Sept-25-2019
Congratulations to Jerome Cahill who has been named Bord Gáis Energy U20 Hurler of the Year.
In the semi-final of the ‘C’ Plate MacDonaghs lost to Borrisokane by the minimum of margins on a 4-6 to 4-5 scoreline. MacDonaghs played with a strong wind in the first half but conceded a goal at very start and another goal at the end of the half to go in a point down at the interval. They played very well in second half and came back from five down to draw level near the end but Borrisokane scored the winner from a free. This is an 11-a-side competition but both teams agreed to play 13-a-side.

We travelled to Borrisokane last Thursday evening with a panel of eighteen players and played two matches. Thanks to Borrisokane for hosting us. This Sunday both our U9s and 10s are heading to Boherlahan for a tournament.
The final session of the season took place in MacDonagh Park last Saturday morning. Cian Darcy, Craig Morgan and Jerome Cahill were on hand to make the presentations. Thanks to our dedicated cohort of coaches who put in a great effort with this group. Thanks also to the parents who brought the players to training and matches.
The club will be launching a major fundraiser in the next few weeks. The top prize will once again be a car and on this occasion the tickets will be on sale for just €50.
Congratulations to Laura Shinners who is one of the nominees for the Soaring Stars Awards.
