Kilruane MacDonaghs Weekly Notes May-29-2018
Well done to the Tipperary senior and minor teams on their displays against Cork. Kian O’Kelly lined out at left wing-forward on the minor side. We wish both teams continued success against Waterford on Sunday.
In the fourth round of the County League MacDonaghs will play Lorrha in MacDonagh Park on Saturday, 16th June at 7.00pm.
In the opening round of the championship MacDonagh lost 1-19 to 1-12 against Éire Óg in Nenagh. The home side had the aid of the breeze in the first half. After 21 minutes MacDonaghs were in a good position with the teams tied on 0-6 each. Nenagh had a purple patch before the break, reeling off five points on the trot. Mark O’Meara responded with a pointed free to leave Éire Óg 0-11 to 0-7 ahead at the interval. The Magpies needed a good start to the second half but it was Nenagh that came racing out of the blocks with a pointed free and a goal in the opening minutes. Éire Óg managed to maintain a cushion of at least six points for the remainder of the game and were deserving winners.

The Ardcroney N.S. U11 hurling team qualified for the county final with a victory over Fethard. The U13 side will hope to join them in Semple Stadium when they take on Kilsheelan in the county semi-final in Boherlahan on Thursday.
The annual Kellogg’s Cúl Camp is scheduled for 2nd to 6th July in MacDonagh Park. In 2017 we had a record attendance of 199. We are encouraging all parents to book their children on www.kelloggsculcamps.gaa.ie. Last year 66% of participants were booked online. To secure a place for this year’s Camp parents should book immediately as the committee has decided to limit the capacity to 200.Registration will close on Thursday, 28th June and under no circumstances will bookings be accepted after that date.
Congratulations to Mary McLoughney who won €1,000 and Chris Keeshan who pocketed €200 in the Tipperary Draw. Thanks to all who supported the draw.
The club extends sympathy to the Bergin family, Ballymackey on the death of Dan Bergin.
