Croke Park Visit

A party of forty juveniles and ten adults travelled to Croke Park on last Saturday. They had a guided tour of the Stadium, enjoyed a sumptuous meal and participated in coaching sessions conducted by Lee Chin, Podge Collins, Richie Hogan, Anthony Nash and Maurice Shanahan. Niall O’Meara and Jack Peters were also employed in assisting the various groups from around the country as they toured the stadium. The club would like to thank Donald Austin, Centra, Cloughjordan who helped organise this very successful venture.

 

Under 10

Our U10s travelled to St. Cronan’s Park on Sunday morning, 2nd October to take on Roscrea where both clubs had two teams and each side played two matches. Thanks to Roscrea for the invitation.

New York Prize

The club is organising a major raffle with very attractive prizes. The winner has a choice of weekend flights and accommodation for two to the Tipperary New York Association Dinner Dance or flights

and accommodation for the St. Patrick’s weekend in New York and be a guest of the Tipperary

Association in the Parade. The second prize is a weekend for two in a luxury hotel and the third prize is an evening meal for two. Tickets cost €5 and three are available for €10.The draw will take on Friday, 14th October. All tickets must be returned by this Thursday, 13th October.

 

Club History

“Kilruane MacDonaghs 1970-2013 Heirs to a Proud Tradition” will be launched by Len Gaynor in the clubroom on this Friday, 14th October at 8.00pm. Everybody is welcome to attend.  Refreshments will be served. The 560 page publication with 442 photographs gives a comprehensive account of club activities during this forty-four year period. There are ten player profiles as well as a profile of the legendary Boer leader, Christiaan de Wet. There is a chapter devoted to the All-Ireland club victory in 1986 while the trip to New York in 1982 is also recalled. The book is priced at €30.

The Annual General Meeting has been pencilled in for Friday, 9th December.

 

Sympathy

The club extends sympathy the O’Leary family, Beechwood on the death of Selma Ryan (nee O’Leary), Monkstown, Dublin and to the O’Meara family, Ballyrickard on the death of Margaret O’Meara.
