MacDonaghs take on Thurles Sarsfields in the county quarter-final in Semple Stadium on Saturday at 3.30pm. This is going to be a mammoth task against the county champions. The panel is badly hit by injuries but are primed to give it an almighty effort. We hope that everybody will rally behind the team.

MacDonaghs journeyed to Ballinasloe last Saturday for a tournament organised by Craughwell. We had a great day, getting the better of Newmarket (Clare), overcoming the hosts Craughwell and Ardrahan (Galway) on the way to the final against Kilmacud Crokes. In the decider we had to give second best to a strong Dublin team.

We also participated in the U9 Craughwell tournament. MacDonaghs defeated Newmarket and Ardrahan. We  lost to Craughwell  by a point but still qualified for the final where we drew with Ballinasloe. A great achievement by this panel.

Borrisokane and Silvermines travelled to MacDonagh Park for a Blitz. MacDonaghs had thirty-four players togged out and fielded four teams. Silvermines and Borrisokane had two teams in action. Each team played three twenty-minute games. Parents again supplied sandwiches and helped out with tea. A great community spirit is developing with this group.
