Sympathy

The club extends sympathy to the family of the late Donnacha Minogue, Moanfin. He captained the intermediate team to win North and County titles in 1978. Donnacha had lined out at corner-back on the senior football team that overcame Loughmore Castleiney in the 1975 County Final. In a fifteen-year career with the club, he also won the following hurling medals: County U21(1), North Junior (1) and North U21 (2) as well as divisional football medals in senior (1), U21 (2) and minor (1).  Donnacha  was a committed and courageous player who was a warrior in the black and white jersey. As a mark of respect, the Tricolour flew at half-mast in MacDonagh Park. His coffin was draped in the club colours, and members  joined with the Gun Club to form a guard of honour  at his funeral.

Sympathy is also extended to Johanna Hodgins, Behamore on the death of her  father John Sweeney and to the  family of the late Mackey McKenna.
