Junior Football
Our junior footballers qualified for the County final of the ‘B’ championship with a hard-earned 2-5 to 0-10 victory over Cappawhite in Newport. Aided by the wind in the first half, MacDonaghs led by 2-2 to 0-4 at the interval with Carl Williams scoring both goals. With the wind in their backs Cappawhite eliminated the deficit and with forty-nine minutes gone the sides were level. Points from substitutes Cian Darcy and Seamus Hennessy edged MacDonaghs two clear. In the 60th minute Cappawhite converted a 45 to leave the minimum between the sides and that’s how it finished. Boherlahan Dualla will provide the opposition in the final which is scheduled for next weekend.
