Senior
We made a winning start to the County League with 1-19 to 1-15 victory over Thurles Sarsfields in Toor, Killinan on St. Patrick’s Day. The management team of Trevor Fletcher, Fergal Healy and Alan Quinlan gave senior debuts to the Kennedy twins. Cormac started at corner-back and Charlie was introduced into the action in the second half.
A very strong wind that blew directly down the pitch literally made it a game of two halves. The home team had first use of the elements and led by 1-13 to 1-3 at the break. Kian O’Kelly got the MacDonaghs goal after Brian O’Meara and Niall O’Meara had combined to create the opportunity. Kilruane, with Niall O’Meara outstanding in the number six jersey, took control in the second half and limited Thurles to two points.
