In the first round of the County League, we play Thurles Sarsfields in MacDonagh Park on St. Patrick’s Day at 12.00 noon.

U17 Football

In the second round of the North/Mid League, we came out the wrong side of a 2-5 to 1-7 scoreline against Moyne Templetuohy in MacDonagh Park. Kilruane spurned some gilt-edged goal chances in both halves. MacDonaghs dominated the first ten minutes of the second half but failed to turn the possession into scores. Moyne seized the initiative with a goal and two points in two minutes. The home side fought until the end, but it was the visitors who claimed both points. The management gave game time to all of the twenty-four players on the panel.

Team:  Johnny Naughnane, Jack Quinlisk, Fearghal Doheny, Simon Austin, Paul Molloy, Eamonn Coonan (0-1), Cian Hayes, Cathal England, Tommy Burriss, Michael Hennelly (0-1), Brian O´Meara, Fiachradh Woods, Colm McAteer, Tom Austin (1-0), Michael Cleary (0-2). Subs: John Hannan, Ray Quinlivan (0-2), Coilin Doris (0-1), Cathal McIntyre, Shane Cleary, Cormac Gaynor, Dara O’Ĺooney, Donnacha O´Meara.  Referee: Pat Murray.

Our final group game is away to JK Brackens with victory essential to clinch a semi-final place.

U13 Football

Last Saturday’s scheduled games against Roscrea fell foul of the weather. Both our teams will be in action on Saturday in MacDonagh Park. The ‘A’ team take on Kiladangan while the ‘D’ team play Burgess with times to be confirmed.

Mighty Macs

Despite the unfavourable weather, there was a great attendance of boys and girls at the first session of the Mighty Macs on the Astro Turf on Saturday. Activities resume Saturday morning at 10.00am. All four, five and six-year-old boys and girls are welcome to attend. No hurls nor helmets are required. It is a fundamental movement skills session with the emphasis on fun and enjoyment.
