Junior
In the second round of the championship, we lost 2-22 to 3-12 against Kiladangan in Nenagh. We played with the aid of a light breeze in the first half and dominated the opening quarter, leading 2-6 to 0-3 after eleven minutes. Jack Mulcahy steered the sliotar to the net in the sixth minute after Cian Moyles had scythed through the defence. In the eleventh minute, Michael Cleary emerged from a ruck with the sliotar in his fist and raised our second green flag. Kiladangan cut into the lead in the second quarter to leave Kilruane 2-9 to 0-12 ahead at the interval. We could have been in arrears at the break, but keeper Kevin Naughnane brought off a number of great saves to keep our goal intact.
On the restart, Michael Cleary increased our advantage to four with a point from play. Kiladangan began to take control of the game. With fourteen minutes left, we were just three points adrift. However, Kiladangan pulled away in the final quarter and were deserving winners.
