Senior
We made our exit from the North championship after a 2-26 to 1-19 loss against Templederry in Dolla. On a perfect evening for hurling, Templederry made the brighter start and led by 0-3 to 0-1 after five minutes. MacDonaghs clawed their way into the game and fired over four points in a row to edge one ahead. In the 15th minute, Sean Ryan scored Templederry’s first goal and put them into a lead that thy wouldn’t relinquish. Templederry dominated the second quarter and led by 1-11 to 0-8 at the break.
On the resumption, MacDonaghs whittled the deficit back to two and had the momentum with them. Then came the turning point of the game in the thirty-eighth minute. Sean Ryan was on the end of a Templederry move and rifled the sliotar home. It was uphill for MacDonaghs after that as Templederry drove on to book a deserved spot in the semi-final.
