Senior

In the Dan Breen Cup Kilruane MacDonaghs have been drawn in a group with Loughmore, Thurles and Moycarkey. Commentators have already dubbed it the “Group of Death.”

MacDonaghs last championship encounter with Loughmore was in 2004 in when the sides shared the points in Moneygall. Score: MacDonaghs 1-15 Loughmore 2-12. The Magpies and Moycarkey have only clashed on one previous occasion in the senior championship and that was in 2009 when MacDonaghs had a 1-13 to 1-12 victory in the Ó Riain Cup in Templemore.

Kilruane and Thurles have become familiar foes in recent seasons. Their paths crossed in the championship in 2015, 2017 (twice), 2018 and 2019 with MacDonaghs recording a 2-24 to 0-18 victory in Templetuohy last year.
