A 4-10 to 1-14 victory over Fethard in Fethard Town Park secured a place in County ‘B’  final. MacDonaghs had first use of the wind, but it was Fethard who drew first blood with a pointed free by Danny Barry. Points from Charlie Kennedy, Michael Cleary and Cian Moyles put Kilruane two clear. Fethard took control of the game with four points on the trot to put them 0-5 to 0-3 ahead. As half-time loomed, the South champions had  a three-point cushion. MacDonaghs finished the half with a Tommy O’Meara goal followed by white flags from Charlie Kennedy (2) and Michael Cleary. At the interval, the Magpies led by 1-7 to 0-7.

With the wind at their backs in the second half, the odds were stacked in favour of Fethard. However,  MacDonaghs rose to the challenge. On the restart, Michael Cleary pointed and Cian Moyles surged forward to raise a green flag to give Kilruane a seven-point cushion. Fethard replied with three points to cut the deficit to four. Jack Mulcahy did the spade work to create the chance for Eoin Carroll, who rifled the sliotar to the net. A fourth Kilruane goal from Tommy O’Meara proved to be the insurance score. Although Fethard scored a late goal, Michael Cleary had the final say with a pointed free to leave the Magpies five points clear at the final whistle
