In the ‘A’ football semi-final in UL, we lost 1-10 to 1-6 against Moneygall/Clonakenny. We led 1-2 to 0-3 at the interval with John Hannan scoring the goal. The combination were the better team in the second half and were deserving winners. Team: Johnny Naughnane, Jack Quinlisk, Cathal England, Fearghal Doheny, Paul Molloy, Eamonn Coonan, Cian Hayes, Tommy Burriss (0-1), Cian Moyles (0-1), Shane Cleary, Brian O’Meara (0-1), Michael Hennelly, Michael Cleary (0-3), John Hannan (1-0), Ray Quinlivan. Cumann na mBunscol

Cloughjordan School U11 football team gave a tremendous performance in the County final but were edged out by an outstanding Clerihan NS side. Well done to the boys and girls on reaching the final, and congratulations to Clerihan.

 

Inter Divisional

Well done to Hugo Healy, who played with the North Tipperary U14 football team that won the Shield Final with a victory over Mid Tipperary.

 

Juvenile AGM

A well-attended and very successful Annual General Meeting of the Juvenile Club was held in the clubroom. The following were elected: Chairman Lenny Gaynor; Vice-Chairman Niall O’Meara; Secretary Yvonne Kennedy; North Board Delegate John O’Meara; PRO Gilbert Williams. The following management teams were appointed: U17 Cathal McIntyre, Mick Cleary, Jack Peters, Pat Murphy; U15 Mark O’Leary, Martin O’Looney, Liam Grace, Matt Cleary, Aidan Ryan, John O’Meara, Enda McLoughney, Mark O’Neill, Kevin Naughnane; U13 Brian Gaynor, Aidan Ryan, Sean Gaynor, Kieran Cahill, Fran Farrell, Ruan Casey, Cian Darcy, Richard King; U11 John Casey, Timmy Kelly, Páidí Williams, Stephen Kennedy, Mick Ryan, Thomas Williams, Seamus Hennessy; U9 Brian Gaynor, David Dunne, Sandra Williams, Donal Gleeson, Denis Cahill. Paddy White will take charge of U7s, and he will assemble his management team in the New Year.

The weekly Bingo session continues on Saturday night in the Fr. O’Meara Centre, Kilruane at 8.00pm. The jackpot has climbed to €1,600.

 

Sympathy

The club extends sympathy to the family of the late Jim Deane, Straffan, Kildare and formerly Cloughjordan and to Frances Cleary on the death of her sister Deirdre Hough, Borrisokane.

The Kilruane MacDonaghs club would like to wish its supporters, players, committee and officials a peaceful and safe Christmas and a New Year blessed with good health and filled with contentment. We remember those who suffered bereavement during the year and all our parishioners, who are in exile, are also very much in our thoughts.
