Dillon Quirke RIP
The traumatic ending of the game against Clonoulty Rossmore affected everybody present in Semple Stadium. We left Thurles hoping that Dillon Quirke would make a fully recovery. Sadly, the news of Dillon’s passing filtered through later that night and there was a palpable sense of shock throughout the parish in general and among the senior panel & management in particular. The Kilruane MacDonaghs Club extends sympathy to Dan, Hazel, Shannon, Kellie, the Quirke and Fryday families and the Clonoulty Rossmore Club on the tragic loss of Dillon, a warrior in the green and gold of Clonoulty Rossmore and the blue and gold of Tipperary. Ar dheis Dé go raibh anam.
U19
On this Wednesday, 10th August we play Newport in the quarter-final in MacDonagh Park at 7.00pm.
Your support would be appreciated for this team that has surprised many by topping their group and securing a home quarter-final.
U15
In the final of the North/Mid League we lost 4-17 to 1-15 against an excellent Holycross Ballycahill team in Moneygall. Cillian Healy was abroad on holidays and his absence didn’t help our cause. The Mid side led 3-9 to 1-8 at the interval with Michael Cleary rifling home the MacDonaghs goal from a penalty in the 16th minute. In the second half Holycross always kept sufficient daylight between the sides and were deserving winners. Attention now switches to the North championship.
