In the penultimate group game MacDonaghs take on Burgess in Kilcolman on this Saturday, 27th August at 6.45pm.
Under 14
MacDonaghs lost out to Toomevara in the semi-final on a 3-7 to 1-10 scoreline. Thanks to the players and management who put in a huge effort during the year.
Under 11
MacDonaghs participated in the Dick Mulcahy tournament in Puckane. The tournament was divided into two groups (15-a-side): (1) Kiladangan, Shannon Rovers Gaels & Portroe; (2) Borrisokane, Kilruane MacDonaghs & Burgess. In the group stages MacDonaghs played Borrisokane and Burgess, losing to Borrisokane (2-1 to 2-0). Burgess, who had only 14 players conceded but the match was played.
In the semi final MacDonaghs defeated Kiladangan, the winners of the other group, by 2-0 to 0-1. In the final MacDonaghs lost to Borrisokane by three points. Under 6
Portroe, Silvermines and Kilruane MacDonaghs participated in a Mini Blitz in MacDonagh Park on last Friday evening.
Tickets
Demand for All-Ireland hurling tickets is already well in excess of the expected supply. The club regrets that it will not be able to facilitate all requests, so supporters are asked to explore all other lawful avenues to source a ticket. There will be no family tickets available for the final. Applications should be made to Matt Cleary 087-4171382 or Carmel Daly 087-2409854 before this Thursday, 25th August.
Meeting
A meeting of the club committee will be held in the clubroom on this Thursday, 25th August at 8.30pm. All committee members are requested to attend.
Club History
Thanks to all who have become patrons. 120 patrons have now pledged €6,770 — €5,770 has already been collected. We have contributions from Arizona, Chicago, Perth, Kilkenny, Dublin, Wicklow, Kildare, Laois, Galway, Shannon Rovers, Burgess, Lorrha, Nenagh, Holycross and all corners of the parish. The deadline for getting your name on the list is next Monday, 29th August as the book goes to print the following day. Contact Gilbert Williams 087-2176452 to have your name included as a patron. “Kilruane MacDonaghs 1970-2013, Heirs to a Proud Tradition” will be launched on Friday, 14th October by Len Gaynor. For as little as €50 you too can become part of the club history by becoming a patron. All patrons will be acknowledged in the publication. All who have pledged contributions are asked to forward same to Gilbert Williams as soon as possible.
