In the fourth round MacDonaghs lost 3-17 to 1-13 against Knockshegowna in Ballingarry. This result leaves them in a precarious position. MacDonaghs must now win their remaining game against Borris-Ileigh and hope that two other results fall in their favour.  Although MacDonaghs had the aid of the breeze in the first half it was Knockshe who drew first blood with a goal in the fifth minute. The Magpies were playing second fiddle after that. At the interval the score was 2-8 to 0-9 in favour of the home side. Even a goal by Tom Dooley in the 25th of the second half minute failed to spark a late rally as Knockshe hit four of the last five points to claim a deserved victory. Team: Shane Williams, Colm Williams, Brendan McAdams, Bob Dooley, Caoilainn Conroy, Pat Williams, Cormac Williams, Liam Gibson (0-5), Alan Darcy, Conor Austin, Kevin Ryan (0-2), Robert Austin, Paddy Ryan, Niall Shinners (0-1) and Mark O’Meara (0-4). Subs: Cormac Mannion (1-0), Pat Conway, Tom Dooley (1-0) and Kevin Oakley.

Minor

MacDonaghs will play Roscrea in the semi-final in Toomevara on Wednesday, 30th August at 6.30pm.

Under 13

We are away to Portroe in the first round of this championship on this Wednesday, 23rd August at 7.00pm.

Under 11

Our U11 hurlers had mixed fortunes at home to Nenagh Éire Óg. MacDonaghs (Bán) were victorious but MacDonaghs (Dubh) had to give second best.

Under 8

We hosted a successful blitz in MacDonagh Park. We had three teams, Kiladangan fielded two and Moneygall had one. All teams were eight-a-side. Despite the unfavourable weather conditions, there was some tremendous hurling played. Refreshments were served to everybody afterwards.
