Juvenile Training

U6, U8 & U10 training continues Wednesday in Ardcroney at 7pm

U10

U10 Blitz this Saturday in Borrisoleigh. All players to be there at 9.30am

U12

The u12s bounced back from their defeat to Silvermines with a well earned win over Knockavilla on Tuesday last. The Kilruane girls worked hard all over the field and at half time it was all even at 1-1 each. Knockavilla took the lead with an early 2nd half goal. However from here on it was to be all Kilruane. The backs played extremely well, with Christine Percy having her best game of the year so far and Ava Gaynor supplying great ball to the forwards.  Clodagh Shinners saw her attempt sail over the crossbar and there was just 2 points between the sides. Sarah Quinlisk pushed hard and came very close to scoring, the hard work paying off when Ali O’Kelly goaled.  Final score 3-3 to 2-2. Best wishes to Orlaith Cleary, who picked up an injury during the match. Their next match will see them play Toomevara, results to follow.

U14

The u14 Community Games team had a great win over Roscrea in the North semi final on Friday last.  The Cloughjordan girls got off to a blistering start with three Ali O’Kelly goals inside the first 10minutes, after fantastic work from Mollie Kennedy, Hannah Grace and Niamh Franks. Roscrea made changes and began to add their own scores . However Caoimhe Conroy’s excellent free-taking kept Cloughjordan ahead. The half time score was 3-2 to 0-4.

Scores were a lot harder to come by in the 2nd half, with both sets of backs on top. Leanne Gould made some fantastic clearances while Aisling Nevin blocked time and again . The only score of the 2nd half was a well taken Caoimhe Conroy free. Final score Cloughjordan 3-3 to Roscrea 0-4.  The Cloughjordan girls have now qualified for the North Final, a great achievement.

Intermediate

The next round of the intermediate league is scheduled for Sunday, 5pm against Cashel at home.

Community Games

Some juvenile camogie players travelled to UL on Saturday to represent the Cloughjordan parish in the Community Games U13G Handball.

They put in a strong performance in the first game beating the Limerick opposition with a convincing win. The team lined out with Christine Percy on the court in the first singles game, the doubles pair of Hannah Grace and Aoife Williams were next up and finally Clodagh Shinners in the last singles game.

Tipp’s win against Limerick put them through to the Munster Final where they faced a tough Clare opposition. Tipp lined out with the same team, Christine giving a battling performance to put us in front from the start. Hannah and Aoife showed their determination by coming out on top in their doubles match, Clodagh then performed superbly in the final game to give Tipp an overall victory and crowned Munster Champions on a score line of 79-53.

Well done Girls and the extended panel of Sarah Williams and Lucy Gould who were great backup to have. The All-Ireland’s will take place on the weekend of the 26th/27th of May in UL.
