Kilruane Claim U12 ‘B’ Camogie County Title

20 Dec 2007 by Nenagh Guardian

Kilruane            2-4

Silvermines            0-0

Kilruane and Silvermines contested the under 12 ‘B’ county final in The Ragg. Kilruane’s centre-forward Eibhlin Enright opened the scoring with a well taken point early in the first half.  Eibhlin followed this up with two further points from play to push Kilruane 3 points ahead.  Although Silvermines battled hard, Kilruane’s duo of Sarah Coonan and Shauna Tooher were well on top at mid-field, supplying lots of ball to the Kilruane forwards.  Eibhlin Enright goaled before half-time to leave the score 1-3 to 0-0 in Kilruane’s favour at the break.

Silvermines made changes at half-time which seemed to work.  They worked tirelessly in the second half but couldn’t get through the Kilruane defence.  Kilruane’s Sarah Coonan added a point, before Eibhlin Enright again tore through the Silvermines defence and goaled to leave the final score at 2-4 to 0-0.

Well done to both teams, who played an excellent game of camogie despite harsh weather conditions.
