Weekly Notes

Adjourned A.G.M.
The adjourned AGM of the senior club will be held in the clubroom on Thursday January 11th at 8.00p.m. This is one of the most important meetings of the year with a number of very significant issues on the agenda.

Juvenile Presentation:
On Friday January 26th the juvenile club will hold a presentation function in the Western Pass at 8.00p.m. The U/14 hurlers, Féile and championship winners in North Tipperary, will receive their medals at the function. All-Ireland minor medallists Eoin Hogan and Seamus Hennessy will be special guests on the night.

Juvenile A.G.M.
After a very successful season the juvenile club will hold its Annual General Meeting in the clubroom on Thursday February 2nd at 8.00p.m.

Dinner Dance:
The club’s dinner dance will be held in the Abbey Court Hotel on Saturday February 10th. The U/21 hurlers who won North and County titles and the minor hurlers who won the North Championship for the third year in a row will receive their medals. This promises to be a memorable occasion with Nicky Brennan, President of the G.A.A., guest of honour on the night. The last time we were honoured with the presence of a sitting president was in May 1995 when Jack Boothman officially opened the stand in Thomas MacDonagh Park.

Website:
The club website has been completely revamped and is being continually updated. It includes an extensive picture gallery, profiles of prominent club personalities, the Roll of honour, a history section and a news section. The weekly club notes can be accessed on the site and you can also join the mailing list to keep abreast of all club news. The site has received much favourable comment and has proved to be very popular with supporters at home and abroad. The address is www.kilruanemacdonaghs.com

Engagement:
Congratulations to Ruan Casey on his engagement to AnnMarie O’Mahony and to Michael Ryan on his engagement to Maggie McNally.

College Presentation:
At a recent function in Cistercian College Roscrea, student Seamus Hennessy received a special presentation to mark his achievement in winning an All-Ireland minor hurling medal.

Gambia Trip:
Gary Prout, a student in Limerick, travels to the West African country of Gambia in January to undertake a teaching placement. At a fundraising Table Quiz in the Western Pass, secretary Kay Catalan presented Gary with a cheque to help with his voluntary work. Gary has played all grades of hurling and football with Kilruane MacDonaghs from U/10 to U/21 and all club members wish him well during his sojourn in the Dark Continent.
