U-12 Hurling
The u-12 hurlers began their campaign with a hard earned seven point home victory against Roscrea on a 4-4 to 2-3 scoreline. MacDonaghs opened impressively and goals from Cian Darcy and Kieran Brereton helped open up a seven point lead as the interval approached. Roscrea finished the half strongly and scored two goals to leave just a point separating the sides at the break. There was very little between the teams in the second half but crucial goals from Cillian Finn and Kieran Lillis tipped the balance in favour of MacDonaghs. The team played with great spirit and determination to overcome a good Roscrea side. Team: Niall Shinners,William Ryan, Keelan Troy, Brendan McAdams, Jack Farrell, Darragh Peters, Caolainn Conroy, James Cleary, Abhain Coleman, Kieran Brereton (1-0), Kieran Lillis (1-0), Cian Darcy (1-0), Cormac Boyle, Cillian Finn (1-0) and Cormac Doheny (0-4).
Senior Hurling
The senior hurlers play Burgess on this Saturday in Nenagh at 4.00 p.m.
Dan O Meara Tournament
The u-16 hurlers play Shinrone in the final of the Dan O Meara tournament on this Thursday in MacDonagh Park at 7.00 p.m. They play the first round of the championship away to Nenagh Eire Óg on this Monday June 23rd. (Check fixtures for time).
Coaching
Hurling coaching for all primary school boys continues on Saturday at 11 o clock. Christy Morgan and his team will be on duty.
Kehoe Cup
Congratulations to Alan Ryan who lined out at centre-back on the Meath senior hurling team which won the Kehoe Cup by defeating Carlow in Portlaoise.
