Summer Camp

Ninety four participants had a fantastic week at the annual VHI Cul camp. The favourable weather added to the enjoyment of all. On the final day each boy and girl was presented with a certificate and a commemorative medal by county chairman Barry O Brien and Games Promotion officer Dinny Maher. The highlight of the week was the visit on Thursday of Tipperary stars Shane McGrath and Seamus Calinan who received an enthusiastic reception from the appreciative gathering. Thanks to the coaches Maria Tynan Toomevara, Matthew Ryan Templederry Kenyons, Philip Donnellan Shannon Rovers, Stephen Murphy Kilruane MacDonaghs, Joe Gallagher Kildangan, Mark Gennery Portroe and Cian Hogan Lorrha who carried out their duties in a very professional manner. Len Gaynor was the Camp supervisor and ensured that everything ran smoothly. Thanks to Marian Ryan who looked after the catering, caretaker Pat Williams who had MacDonagh Park looking resplendent and the five young club volunteers who assisted the coaches. A number of items of clothing were left behind and can be reclaimed by contacting Gilbert Williams 087-2176452. Items unclaimed by Saturday July 18th will be deposited in the local clothing bank. Next week photographs of the camp will be uploaded on the website kilruanemacdonaghs.com
