Minor Hurling

In the second round of the championship the minor hurlers had a hard fought home win against Kildangan on a 0-17 to 2-6 scoreline. In the opening quarter MacDonaghs were two points behind but had edged a point ahead as the interval loomed. Kildangan goaled with the second last puck of the half to leave the score 1-5 to 0-6 in their favour. On the resumption, Kilruane scored four points without reply before Kildangan responded with a point. A strong finish by the home team saw them reel off seven points on the trot with late Kildangan pressure yielding a goal. Well done to referee Ger Fitzpatrick of Roscrea who used the whistle economically and allowed both teams to hurl.
