Junior Hurling
The junior hurlers opened their campaign with a 5-24 to 1-3 home victory against Moneygall. The margin of victory took everybody by surprise as these sides drew in Toomevara in 2013. With five minors in the ranks and ten of the starting fifteen eligible for U21, this was the youngest ever junior hurling team to represent Kilruane MacDonaghs. The average age of the team was 20.66 years so it is probably the youngest ever team to play junior hurling in Tipperary. MacDonaghs took the game by the scruff of the neck from the off. After one minute Conor Cleary took a pass from Caoilainn Conroy and crashed the sliotar to the net. With eighteen minutes gone on the clock, the scoreboard read 4-10 to 0-1 in favour of MacDonaghs. By halftime Kilruane had registered 4-17 with Moneygall still on one point. While the forwards took the headlines, it was Declan Barrett who was man of the match in his new role at centre-back. Team: Niall Shinners, Cian Williams, Freddie Williams, Brendan McAdams, Tomás Hogan, Declan Barrett, Conor Austin, Alan Darcy (0-1), Caoilainn Conroy, Aidan Boyle (0-1), Diarmuid Cahill (1-7), Darragh Peters (2-4), Conor Cleary (1-4), Pat Conway (0-4) and James Cleary (1-2). Subs: Mark Spain, Robert Austin, Ronan Boyle, David Mooney and David Williams (0-1).

Well done to Sean McAdams on captaining the Lahorna 60x30 team to victory in Kingscourt on last Saturday. In Monaghan the second team of Cormac Doheny, James Loughnane, Louis Kennedy and Rory Grace acquitted themselves well. Sean and Rory won the skills section in their respective courts.
