Senior
Despite a good second half rally the senior hurlers lost out to Portroe. They must now win their final group match against Kildangan to remain in the North championship. This game is scheduled for next Sunday May 12th in Toomevara at 2.30pm.
Féile
After a pulsating encounter the U14 hurlers lost out to Holycross-Ballycahill in the county Féile Final in Littleton on a 2-6 to 2-3 scoreline. In the semi-final MacDonaghs got the better of Arravale Rovers on a 3-5 to 0-2 scoreline. Congratulations to Holycross and we wish them every success in the National Féile finals in Limerick.
Under 16
Kilruane MacDonaghs take on Newport in the U16 A football final in Dolla on this Thursday May 9th at 7.00pm in Dolla. Your support would be appreciated.
Junior
The junior B hurlers are away to Portroe on this Friday evening at 7.00pm.
Under 6
Former president Sean Kelly dropped in on the U6 training on last Friday night. Sean was in Cloughjordan for the opening of the Heritage Centre.
Cumann na mBunscol
Ardcroney N.S. got their campaign off to the best possible start with a win against Corville N.S. in MacDonagh Park. Cloughjordan N.S. drew with Puckane N.S. in MacDonagh Park in the first round of the championship. The visitors had the better of matters in the opening period but a much improved second half performance by Cloughjordan earned a share of the points. Kilruane N.S. got the better of Templederry N.S. and now face Ballina N.S., with a place in the final at stake.
County Draw
The Tipperary Draw, which commences on Friday May 17th, has a staggering €525,000 prize fund, with two cars on offer every month. Supporters can join by contacting any member of the committee.
Summer Camp
The annual Kellogs Camp takes place in Thomas MacDonagh Park July 1st to 5th. The cost remains the same as last year: first child €55, second child €45 and third child €40. Application forms will be distributed through the local schools. Places in the camp can also be booked on line at www.gaa.ie/culcamps. Promotional packs of Kellogs Cornflakes and Rice Crispies feature a unique code, which can be used by parents online to receive a €5 discount. Heritage Centre
Congratulations to the Heritage Committee on the opening of the magnificent Heritage Centre which will be a huge attraction for both locals and visitors. We are indebted to the members of the committee who had the vision and foresight to provide this amazing facility in the village.
