Kilruane MacDonaghs News
Juvenile training
Training for u6, u8, u10 and u12 teams in Ardcroney Wednesday evenings at 6.30pm. New members are always welcome. These sessions are a great way for girls to learn new skills and make new friends.
U12
The U12 panel played the 2nd round of the U12 Go-Games blitz in Ballina on Saturday last with matches against Ballina, Newport, Burgess and Silvermines. Well done to the panel of 20 players who took part and played very well in all games. Thanks to Ballina for their hospitality on the day. Next blitz is scheduled for Saturday 7th April. Training continues every Wednesday evening in Ardcroney from 6.30pm to 8pm. New members always welcome.
u14
The U14’s quest to represent their county in this year’s Feile Competition came to an end in Ardcroney on Sunday evening last. Playing championship favourites, Toomevara, this was an excellent game of camogie. Both teams gave it everything in the sweltering heat with this young Kilruane team falling short on the scoreline. We now look forward to the championship in a few weeks time. Training continues on Monday evenings and Thursday evenings.
u16
Our u16 team played Shannon Rovers in a practice match in Ardcroney Sunday afternoon. This was a very sporting game. Well done to the panel who all contributed to a good team performance. Thanks to Shannon Rovers for travelling to Ardcroney to provide the opposition.
Junior
Well done to the junior panel who worked hard in their practice match against Lorrha in Cloughjordan Sunday morning. It was great to see such a large turnout of players eager to gain a place on this team before the first league match on Easter Monday. Thanks to the Lorrha team who travelled on the day.
County teams
Commiserations to the Tipperary senior team, and especially full-forward Claire Kennedy, who lost to Cork last weekend. Despite a good 2nd half performance it was not Tipp’s day.
Sponsorship
The club would like to thank Ger Ryan of DG Management Services for sponsorship. It is very much appreciated.
Schools hurling
Best of luck to Darragh Peters, Jack Peters, Stephen Cleary and the Nenagh CBS hurling team as they take on Kilkenny CBS in the All-Ireland Colleges Senior ‘A’ hurling final next Saturday.
Tipperary Camogie draw
