Juvenile Training

After the winter hibernation, indoor juvenile training is now commencing in the Thomas MacDonagh Complex. Selectors will be in contact with the respective panels to confirm starting dates. The U-16s are in action every Monday at 6.30p.m. and U-12s train at 7.00p.m. on Tuesdays.

Juvenile Meeting

A meeting of all juvenile selectors has been scheduled for the clubroom on Friday February 17th at 8.00p.m. A full attendance is expected.

Juvenile Reunion

The club will celebrate the diamond jubilee of Kilruane MacDonaghs victory in the 1951 North juvenile final at a function in the Thomas MacDonagh Complex at 8.00p.m. on Friday March 9th. The survivors of the 1944 team, which won North and County titles, will also be honoured. These celebrations will coincide with the annual ‘Nite Out’ for our loyal Lotto promoters. Guest speaker on the night will be former Tipperary coach Eamon O’ Shea. A three course meal will be served by the Gourmet Gallery. Tickets costing €15 are now on sale. This promises to be a great social occasion for the club, and is an ideal opportunity for present members to meet the stars of the past. All are welcome to attend.

Paddy’s Eve Punch-Up

The preparations for the Paddy’s Eve Punch-Up in the Ormond Hotel on Friday March 16th are now in overdrive. This is a major fundraising raising event involving the Kilruane MacDonaghs and Toomevara clubs. This novel idea is generating a huge amount of interest in both parishes and tickets costing €20 are now available and are being sold on a first come first served basis. As venue capacity is limited, early purchase is advisable. All the contestants, on the rival teams, will also be seeking sponsorship, so we anticipate the usual generous response. Despite speculation to the contrary, proceeds from ticket sales will be shared equally between both clubs, and there is no truth in the suggestion that winner takes all. We would like to thank the senior hurling managers in both clubs for suspending training while the boxing preparations are given priority.

Membership

Membership is now overdue and should be renewed immediately. Fees for 2012 are: non playing adults €20; U-12, U-14, U-16 and U-18 players €20; U-6, U-8 and U-10 players €10. The club has devised a membership package for all players over minor. This also covers insurance and Lotto subscription. Membership is obligatory for all players. At the juvenile reunion on March 9th there will be a draw among fully paid up members for two County Draw and two Club Lotto subscriptions. One prize in each category will be reserved for players.
