Managers

The following managers have been appointed for 2012: senior hurling Jim Williams; junior A hurling John Cahill; U-21 hurling John Hyland and minor hurling Pat Shanahan. Each manager will pick his own selectors. The manager for the junior C hurling team will be appointed at the A.G.M.

Schools Visit

Last week the Tom Markham Cup, won by the Tipperary minor footballers, and the O Dwyer Cup, captured by the Thomas MacDonaghs senior football team, were brought to the parish schools by Shane Dooley and Pat Murphy. Shane was a member of both squads, while Pat was a selector on the successful sides.

Sean Ghael Awards

Congratulations to all the recipients of the annual Sean Ghael awards which were presented in the Dome on last Sunday night. Eamonn O Shea was guest of honour at the function.

Club Calendar

The club calendar will be launched in the clubroom on this Friday November 25th. All players and supporters are invited to the launch at 9.00 p.m. This calendar, which represents great value at €10, will be on sale on the night and will also be available in the local shops or can be purchased from any committee member. It will make the ideal festive gift for those both home and away. Refreshments will be served.

Player Registration

Registration of all adult players for 2012 will take place in the clubroom on this Friday November 25th at 8.00 p.m., prior the launch of the club calendar. All players have received notification and are expected to attend.

Harty Cup

Jack Peters and Stephen Cleary lined out on the Nenagh C.B.S. team which defeated Castletroy to qualify for the Harty Cup quarter-final. Darragh Peters was also on the panel.

Diamond Jubilee

In 1951 Kilruane MacDonaghs defeated Moneygall in the North U-15 hurling final on a 5-3 to 3-1 scoreline to claim the club’s third title in the grade. To celebrate the diamond jubilee of that victory the club will honour the team at a function in The Complex in the New Year. The following team lined out against Moneygall in Borrisokane: Tommy O Brien R.I.P., Sean Dwyer, Pierce O Leary, Harry Boyle, Des Gaynor, Jimmy Donnelly, Michael Cleary, Danny Gibson (0-1), John Hensey, Joe Williams, Ger Hogan Capt. R.I.P. (4-2), Ger McCarthy, Tom McLoughney (1-0), Paddy McLoughney and Sean Williams R.I.P. . Subs: Liam Tierney, Mick Boyle, Francie Ryan, Liam Ryan, Pat McCarthy and Michael Herlihy.

Lotto

The Club Lotto jackpot continues its upward climb and now stands at €200 shy of € 5,000. Tickets cost €2, with three on offer for €5. The draw takes place each Monday night.

Sympathy

The club would like to extend its sympathy to Catherine Kennedy, the Kennedy and Gibson families on the death of Liam Kennedy Portroe.
