Adjourned AGM

A very successful Adjourned Annual General Meeting was held in the clubroom on last Thursday with the extensive agenda producing lively debate and discussion. Michael Hogan was elected to fill the vacant post of vice-chairman, with Len Gaynor reappointed as County Board delegate and George O Leary continuing his role as North Board representative. The members of the various sub-committees were also selected. The following managers and selectors were ratified: Senior Hurling Barney Naughnane (manager), Joe Burns and Martin Kelly; Junior A Hurling Gilbert Williams (manager), Dinny O Meara and Tommy McDonald; Junior C Hurling Christy Morgan (manager), Len Gaynor and Gilbert Williams; U-21 Hurling Paddy Williams (manager), John Quinlan, John Hyland and Pat Shanahan. The minor hurling management team will be finalized at the monthly committee meeting in February.

Juvenile Presentation

The juvenile presentation has been rescheduled for 7.30 p.m. on Friday February 11th in The Complex. On that night the U-12 hurlers will receive their North and county medals and the U-8 hurlers will also receive a special presentation.

Dinner Dance

The club is holding a Dinner Dance in the Abbey Court Hotel on Saturday March 19th. The U-21 hurlers will be presented with their divisional and county medals. Guests of honour on the night will be the Kilruane MacDonaghs senior hurling team of 1986 which won the All-Ireland club title. The club will be making a presentation to each player and selector to celebrate the silver jubilee of this famous victory. This promises to be a great occasion for the parish and the club. Tickets will be available soon.

County Final

Anybody interested in ordering a copy of the U-21 county final DVD should contact secretary Kay Cahalan 087-9059592. Copies cost €15 each. Orders must be in by Friday February 3rd.

Texting Service

The club has a very efficient and effective texting service in operation for a number of years. Existing members receive notification of matches, results and other important club related news. Anybody interested in having their name added to the list should text name and number to Kay Cahalan 087-9059592.

GAA Quiz

Well done to the Ardcroney N.S. team of Jerome Cahill, Daniel Ryan, Pearse Cahalan and Patrick Hayes who came second in the county final of the Primary Schools GAA Quiz in Thurles.

Summer Camp

The Annual Hurling and Camogie Cul Camp will take place in MacDonagh Park Monday July 4th to Friday July 9th. The cost remains the same as last year: one child €55, two children €100 and three children €135. Application forms will be distributed through the local schools at a later date.
