County Final

The U-21 hurlers gave a tremendous performance in overcoming Thurles Sarsfields to capture the county title for the seventh time. They showed spirit, heart and determination in getting the better of a formidable Thurles outfit. They displayed their true mettle when they had to come from behind in the second half. Congratulations to the players, manager Paddy Williams and selectors John Quinlan, John Hyland and Pat Shanahan, physio John Casey and all the backroom team. The team was given a fantastic reception when they arrived back in the village.

Juvenile AGM

A well attended Juvenile Annual General Meeting was held in the clubroom on last Friday night. Chairman Sean Ward presided over the enthusiastic gathering with very active participation and constructive contributions from the attendees. The review of the year highlighted the historic win by the U-12 hurlers in the county final as well as recognizing the efforts by all players and team managements from U-6 up to U-16. Club teams were involved in one hundred and ten games throughout a hectic season. All executive and selectorial positions were filled on the night reflecting the great spirit of commitment and co-operation that exists in the juvenile club. Presidents: Fr. Tom Hannon, Fr. Enda Burke and Tom McLoughney; Chairman-Sean Ward; Vice-Chairman-Christy Morgan; Secretary-John O Meara; P.R.O.-Gilbert Williams: Child Welfare Officer-Sarah Ryan and Schools Liaison Officer-Len Gaynor. The following selectors were appointed: U-6 Martin Cahalan, Sean Ryan and Thomas Williams; U-8 Michael Grace, John Mulcahy and Tim Dwyer; U-10 Jody Hurley, Michael O Neill and Martin Walsh ; U-12 Christy Morgan, Michael O Meara and Thomas Williams; U-14 Mark O Meara, Michael Reddan and Ned Darcy ; U-16 Pat Shanahan, DJ Hayes, John Hyland and Sean Ward. Adjourned AGM

The Adjourned AGM of the senior club will be held on this Thursday night January 27th in the clubroom at 8.00 p.m. This is one of the most important meetings of the year with an extensive agenda down for discussion so a large attendance would be appreciated.

Juvenile Presentation

The juvenile presentation has been rescheduled for 7.30 p.m. on Friday February 11th in The Complex. On that night the U-12 hurlers will receive their divisional and county medals and the U-8 hurlers will also receive a special presentation.

Senior Meeting

A meeting of the senior players takes place in the clubroom on this Friday night January 28th at 8.00 p.m. Training commences on Sunday January 30th at 10.30 a.m.

Lotto

Congratulations to Mary Cawley Emill who scooped the €2,700 jackpot in the Kilruane MacDonaghs Lotto. The club would like to take this opportunity to thank all subscribers and promoters for their continued support. In the current economic climate the club has an even greater dependence on the Lotto and greatly appreciates the loyalty of our supporters. The jackpot resumes at a very attractive €2,000. The draw takes place every Monday night. Tickets cost €2 or three for €5.
