County Final

Best wishes to the U-21 hurlers who take on Thurles Sarsfields in the county final in Dolla on this Sunday January 23rd at 2.00 p.m.. The only meeting of these clubs in a county final in this grade was in 1974 when MacDonaghs overcame a first half ten point deficit to win the second of their six titles.

AGM

A large crowd assembled in the clubroom on last Friday night for a very productive and lively Annual General Meeting. In her customary comprehensive report secretary Kay Cahalan gave an in depth account of both on and off the field activities during the last year. She paid due tribute to the successful U-21 and U-12 sides and gave special mention to the club personnel involved in Tipperary’s All-Ireland success.

Assistant treasurer Ger Ryan presented a detailed set of accounts which showed that despite the club’s major investment in infrastructure and the difficult economic climate the finances were under control.

n a wide ranging address chairman George O Leary reviewed his first year at the helm and set out his vision for the future direction of the club. All the major positions were filled with the minimum of fuss.

Glowing tributes were paid to outgoing treasurer Michael Cahill who has managed the finances of the club for over twenty years in a very efficient and effective manner. Michael will remain on the committee and will still be deeply involved in the Lotto and County Draw. Ger Ryan is the new treasurer and he has already shown in his year as vice-treasurer that he is a major asset to the club.

Adjourned AGM

The Adjourned AGM will be held in the clubroom on Thursday January 27th at 8.00 p.m. . This is one of the most important meetings of the year with an extensive agenda down for discussion. All management teams will be finalized on the night.

Juvenile AGM

The Annual General Meeting of the juvenile club will be held in the clubroom on this Friday January 21st at 8.00 p.m. . Everybody interested in the promotion of juvenile games in the parish is invited to attend
