 All-Ireland Semi-Final

Congratulations to Brian O Meara, Seamus Hennessy, Eamon O Shea, John Casey and all involved in the Tipperary’s victory against Waterford. Supporters are reminded that tickets for the final will be at a premium so anyone who has neglected to renew their membership should do so immediately as applications will only be accepted from fully paid up members. Names must be given to Michael Cahill 0505-42234 by Tuesday August 24th.

Junior C Hurling

The junior C hurlers chalked up their second consecutive win when they overcame Kildangan in Puckane on a 1-16 to 0-8 scoreline. They made good use of the breeze in the first half with the scoreboard reading 1-11 to 0-4 in their favour at the break. Sean Hayes crashed home the goal from close range after a pass from Mark Spain. In the second half the defence held rock solid despite incessant pressure from the home side. Next on the agenda is a home game against Nenagh on Friday September 3rd. Team; Robert Ward, Fergus England, Colin England, Cian Williams, Eoin Burns, David Slattery, Timmy Walsh, Scott Hodgins (0-1), Alan Darcy (0-2), Robert Austin, Kevin Prout (0-3), Morgan Darcy (0-10), Sean Hayes (1-0), Mark Spain and Danny Reddan. Subs: Dermot Murphy and James Sullivan.

Minor Hurling

The minor hurlers qualified for the semi-final with a home win against Nenagh. On this Wednesday August 18th they play Roscrea in MacDonagh Park at 7.15 in their final group game.

Senior Hurling

The senior hurlers have been drawn against Roscrea in the quarter-final of the O Riain Cup. This game is expected to be deferred until after the All-Ireland senior final.

U-16 Hurling

The U-16 hurlers lost out away to Toomevara on a 3-12 to 0-10 scoreline. They must now win their remaining game away to Nenagh and hope other results fall their way to keep hopes of qualification alive.

Junior A Hurling

The junior A hurlers will play their semi-final on the weekend of August 28th. Our opponents won’t be known until after the second quarter-final is played this weekend.

Bag Packing

The juvenile club would like to thank all the parents who helped make last Saturday’s Bag Packing in Dunnes such an outstanding success. The returns exceeded all expectations. A particular word of thanks to Jody Hurley who spearheaded the organization of this very successful venture.

Bon Voyage

The club would like to extend best wishes to Gary Prout a member of the junior C hurling team who has left to spend a year teaching in Dubai.
