AGM: The AGM of the club took place on Friday evening last with a huge turnout in the GAA Complex in Cloughjordan. The following officers were elected: Chairman Noel Coonan, Vice-Chairman Philip Heenan, Secretary Ann O'Meara, Treasurer Peter McCarthy, Asst Treasurer Paul Callan, PRO Sinead Williams, Child Welfare Officer Paula McSherry, Registration/Insurance Officer Helen Heenan. Also elected to the Committee were Joe Cahill, Mary Gibson, Carmel Austin, Mairead Kirby, Mona England, Tom Quinlisk, Martin Tooher, Fiona Ryan and Marcey Keogh. With the large numbers of members in the club the following trainers/selectors were elected: u6 - Siobhan O'Leary, Lisa Dwan, Roisin Cahill; u8 – Peter McCarthy, Damien Franks, Michael Grace, Eibhlin Enright, Aine Kennedy, Pamela Hayes; u10 – David Williams, Ann O'Meara, Mike Daly; u12 – Shane Hodgins, Tom Quinlisk, Frank Conroy, Helen Heenan, Tina Conroy; u14 – David Reddan, Philip Heenan, Marcey Keogh, Tina Coen; u16 – Pat Shanahan, Liam O'Kelly, Fiona Ryan, Paul Callan, Frances Cleary; u18 & Junior – Tom Quinlisk, Bernie Meagher and John Hyland. Best of luck to all of the above in their roles for the coming year.
Player of the Year: Congratulations to Fiona Ryan who was named Player of the Year for 2011. Fiona was presented with her award by Chairman Noel Coonan on Friday night last.
Garda Vetting: Any officer or selector who has not yet completed their Garda Vetting form should do so as soon as possible. Forms are available from Child Welfare Officer Paula McSherry.
Spring BBQ: Kilruane MacDonaghs hurling club are holding their social night in Kenyon Bar on this Friday 10th with music by Ebony. Please come along and support.
Hurleys: With training for all age-groups resuming over the coming weeks, any player who would like to buy a new hurley should submit their order to club secretary Ann O'Meara 086-3067239 as soon as possible so as to have them for the new season.
Membership is now due and should be paid to Helen Heenan as soon as possible.
