Adult Team
The Intermediates played the last round of the championship against Shannon Rovers on Sunday last in Cloughjordan. This was a keenly contested match from start to finish. Shannon Rovers opened the scoring with a point from play with Kilruane missing a number of scorable opportunities in the first few minutes of the match. Kilruane’s first score came from Lianne O’Kelly who stuck the ball in the back of the net for Kilruane’s first goal. Points from Marie Ryan and Shauna Tooher kept the scoreboard ticking for Kilruane with Shannon Rovers easily taking their points to keep them two points ahead at half-time on a scoreline Kilruane 1-4 Shannon Rovers 1-6. Both sides traded points throughout the second half with Kilruane getting to within a point of the opposition. However, it was Shannon Rovers who took their scores easier finishing with 2-2 in the last ten minutes of the match to take the honours on a final scoreline Kilruane 1-10 Shannon Rovers 3-13. Kilruane await the results of the other matches in this round this weekend for their next fixture.

U14
Kilruane played Shannon Rovers in Ballinderry on Saturday afternoon last in glorious sunshine in the 3rd round of the U14 league. This was a closely fought contest between both teams. Shannon Rovers were quick off the mark with a goal which was quickly followed by a goal from Laura Shinners. Points from Amy Quinlisk and Mickela McGrath kept Kilruane slightly ahead at half-time on a scoreline Kilruane 1-3 Shannon Rovers 1-2. Scores were hard to come by in the second half with both sets of backs under pressure. Shannon Rovers added 1-1 and 3 points from Amy Quinlisk and Laura Shinners brought the match to a draw on a final scoreline Kilruane 1-6 Shannon Rovers 2-3.
