Adult Teams
The Intermediates played Drom in the County League semi-final on Sunday last in The Ragg. Kilruane’s performance on the day was below par as Drom ran out comprehensive winners earning them a place in the League final. However, it was a great achievement for this young Kilruane team to contest a league semi-final in their first year up intermediate. Kilruane got off to a blistering start scoring 1-3 (Lianne O’Kelly 1-0, Roisin Cahill 0-2f, Lisa Cahill 0-1) in the first ten minutes to Drom’s two points. However, from then on, Drom managed to win possession all over the field and were in total control scoring 2-5. Kilruane finished the half with two points from Roisin Cahill to bring the half-time to Kilruane 1-5 Drom 2-7. Things did not improve for Kilruane in the second half as Drom outclassed the Kilruane girls on the field and continued to win possession and pick off their scores easily to give them a comprehensive victory on a final scoreline of Kilruane 1-5 Drom 4-13. This defeat will give the team and management lots to work on and build on for the championship starting in late August. Munster League Fixtures
The Munster league is due to get underway on Friday 6th June with a home match against Truagh/Clonlara. The other fixtures in the group are:- 13th June away to Kilkishen Clare, 20th June away to Newmarket-on-Fergus Clare, 27th June home to Valley Rovers Cork, 4th July away to Toomevara.

U16
There will be no further matches in the championship until after the Junior Cert. Training continues on Saturday mornings at 11am in Ardcroney.

U14
The U14’s played Holycross in the County Qualifier round in Cloughjordan on Tuesday last 13th. This was a tough physical match between two teams eager to gain a place in the County semi-final. Holycross playing with the wind in the first half were in full control and out-scored Kilruane 1-3 to no score. Kilruane opened the scoring of the second half immediately after the restart with a goal from Bonny Conroy. Holycross responded with two points before Laura Shinners scored a goal from a 45’and Amy Quinlisk broke loose to score a goal from play and put Kilruane one point ahead. Possession moved up and down between both teams and scores were hard to come by. Holycross added another point to put the sides level with less than 10 minutes to go. However, Kilruane finished the stronger team with a point from play and a great goal by Amy Quinlisk on the verge of full-time to bring the full-time score to Kilruane 4-1 Holycross 1-6. Kilruane advance to the County semi-final against Silvermines which was due to be played on Tuesday 20th in The Ragg at 7pm.

U13
The U13A league got underway last week with Kilruane’s first match against Ballina played in Cloughjordan on Thursday evening last. Ballina opened the scoring of the first half with two points before Kilruane got on the scoreboard after ten minutes with a goal from Mickela McGrath and a goal from Louise Torpey from a free. Mickela McGrath added another point from play before possession moved to the Ballina forwards. Goalie Orla Molloy had 2 great saves to deny Ballina a certain goal. Laura Shinners pointed from a free before Bonny Conroy scored a goal to put Kilruane ahead on the half-time score Kilruane 2-2 to Ballina 1-2. The second half opened with another goal from Mickela McGrath from a free. Ballina regrouped and managed to add 2-2 unanswered in a ten minute spell to put them two points ahead. However, Kilruane piled on the pressure which resulted in two goals from play by Bonny Conroy to give Kilruane a win on a final scoreline of Kilruane 5-2 Ballina 3-4

Training continues every Wednesday evening in Ardcroney from 6.30 – 7.30pm. New members welcome. All team management and players are reminded to pay their membership fees as soon as possible so that they can be registered and insured to train and play with the club.
