Adult Teams
The Intermediate team played Moycarkey in the play-off of the County League on Friday night last in Cloughjordan. This was a thrilling encounter between two teams who drew the previous weekend and were eager to earn their place in the League semi-final.
Moycarkey were quick off the mark to open the scoring of the first half with a point from play. Kilruane responded with a point from a free by Roisin Cahill and Lianne O’Kelly put her name on the scoreboard with a point from play. Moycarkey added another point before Lisa Cahill found the back of the net to add a goal to the scoreboard. Roisin Cahill pointed from a free and Moycarkey added two further points and a goal from a free to put them one point ahead. Niamh Costello added a point from play and Roisin Cahill scored two points before a goal from Lianne O’Kelly put Kilruane in the driving seat. Moycarkey immediately won the ball from the puck-out and responded with a goal. Lisa Cahill closed the first half with a point from play to put Kilruane two points ahead on a scoreline of Kilruane 2-7, Moycarkey 2-5. The first score of the second half was a goal by Roisin Cahill from a free. Moycarkey added two further points and a goal to level the match at 2-9 each. Marie Ryan got on the end of a ball to score a goal and put Kilruane three points ahead. Moycarkey kept working to the very end adding two further points as Kilruane finished on the narrowest winning margin. Full-time score Kilruane 4-8 Moycarkey 3-10. Kilruane progress to the semi-final and now await the draw for the semi-final pairings.

U16
The next round is fixed for this Thursday 8th May v Burgess in Kilcolman. Training continues on Saturday mornings at 11am in Ardcroney.
U14
The U14’s had a much improved performance to take the spoils in their last round of the championship on Tuesday 29th April in Ballinderry. Kilruane started well and opened the scoring with a point from a free and from play by Amy Quinlisk. Full-forward Catherine Tighe scored a goal and Mickela McGrath and Amy Quinlisk added a point each from play before Shannon Rovers opened up the Kilruane defence to score two goals in quick succession. Amy closed the first half with a goal from a free to put the half-time score Kilruane 2-4 to 2-0. Kilruane started the second half ‘on fire’, goals by substitute Bonny Conroy, Amy Quinlisk and Mickela McGrath put Kilruane in the driving seat. Three further points from Bonny Conroy and a point from a free by Amy Quinlisk gave Kilruane a comfortable lead. Shannon Rovers kept working to the very end and added on a goal and 2 points to bring the match to a close on a final scoreline of Kilruane 5-8 to 3-2. This win puts Kilruane into the qualifiers group and fixtures will be done at the County Board Meeting on Tuesday 6th May. Panel will be notified by text re training times and next fixture.

U12
Our U12’s travelled to Drom on Monday April 28th in the last round of the county league. The first half was very close with excellent play from all players. Drom opened the scoring in the first 5 minutes with a point followed by a goal. Kilruane got on the scoreboard with a goal from Anna Mulcahy followed by another point from Drom. Within a few minutes Drom scored another goal, and just before half time Anna Mulcahy scored a second goal for Kilruane, leaving the half time score Drom 2-02, Kilruane 2-0.The second half was all to play for as there were only 2 points separating the teams. Drom had some excellent scores in the second half scoring a goal and a further 3 points to run away as the winners. Kilruane remained scoreless for the second half as they found it difficult to break down the Drom defence and some brilliant saves by goalkeeper Aoife Peters kept the Kilruane team in the game up to the very end. The final score was Drom 3-05, Kilruane 2-0. Well done to this young bunch of girls who played so well in all three rounds of the competition.
