Our U12’s travelled to Drom on Monday April 28th in the last round of the county league. The first half was very close with excellent play from all players. Drom opened the scoring in the first 5 minutes with a point followed by a goal. Kilruane got on the scoreboard with a goal from Anna Mulcahy followed by another point from Drom. Within a few minutes Drom scored another goal, and just before half time Anna Mulcahy scored a second goal for Kilruane, leaving the half time score Drom 2-02, Kilruane 2-0.The second half was all to play for as there were only 2 points separating the teams. Drom had some excellent scores in the second half scoring a goal and a further 3 points to run away as the winners. Kilruane remained scoreless for the second half as they found it difficult to break down the Drom defence and some brilliant saves by goalkeeper Aoife Peters kept the Kilruane team in the game up to the very end. The final score was Drom 3-05, Kilruane 2-0. Well done to this young bunch of girls who played so well in all three rounds of the competition.
