Adult Teams
The Intermediate team played the third round of the league against Borrisoleigh on Sunday last in Borrisoleigh. Kilruane played with the strong swirling wind in the first half. Shauna Tooher opened the scoring with a point from play followed by 2 points from frees by Borrisoleigh. Roisin Cahill added another point from play. Borrisoleigh added a point from a free followed by a goal which was then followed up with a further 2 points before Kilruane responded with a point each from Niamh Costello, Roisin Cahill and Shauna Tooher. The half-time score was Kilruane 0-5 Borrisoleigh 1-5. In the second half, Borrisoleigh took full advantage of the wind and added a further four points from play before Roisin Cahill hit the back of the net to add a goal for Kilruane. Borrisoleigh piled on the pressure and added two further points to bring the match to a close on a final scoreline of Borrisoleigh 1-11 Kilruane 1-5. The fourth round of the league is against Moycarkey on Sunday next in Littleton, panel will be notified by text of confirmed fixture.

U16
The U16B championship gets underway this week, the first round is in Cloughjordan on this Thursday 24th at 6.30pm against Borrisoleigh. Thanks to Portroe for the practice match at the weekend which proved to be a useful workout for this panel of players.

U14
Kilruane gained their first win in the U14B championship against Toomevara on Thursday night last in Cloughjordan. Kilruane played with the strong wind in the first half and had a number of wides before Laura Shinners scored a goal from a free just before half-time to bring the half-time score to Kilruane 1-0 to Toomevara 0-0. In the second half, Kilruane upped the workrate and Amy Quinlisk opened the scoring with a point from a free followed by a goal from a free by Laura Shinners. Amy Quinlisk completed Kilruane’s scoring with a point from play and just on full-time, Toomevara scored a goal. The full-time score was Kilruane 2-2 to Toomevara 1-0. The team have a bye this week and are due to play Shannon Rovers in Ballinderry on Tuesday next 29th.

U12
Kilruane played the first two rounds of the U12 County league last week. In the first match, Kilruane played Templemore in Clonmore on Monday 14th April. Captain Tara O’Brien scored 2 goals, one in each half to gain victory for Kilruane on a scoreline of 2-0 to Templemore 0-1. Team: Aoife Peters, Aine Spain, Aoibhin Kenneally, Sinead McAteer, Aisling Nevin, Kate Ryan, Katie O’Meara Anna Mulcahy, Abigail Quinlivan, Tara O’Brien (Capt), Meibh Daly.
The second round was played in Ardcroney on Monday last 21st April against Moneygall. Tara O’Brien opened the scoring with a goal followed by a goal from a free by Katie O’Meara. Tara got her second goal just before half-time. Moneygall began their fight back and scored a goal from a free and a further goal and a point from play. Two further goals for Kilruane, one each from Katie O’Meara and Tara O’Brien secured victory for Kilruane on a final scoreline of 5-0 to Moneygall 2-1. Team: Aoife Peters, Aine Spain, Aoibhin Kenneally, Sinead McAteer, Aisling Nevin, Kate Ryan, Katie O’Meara, Aoife McCarthy, Abigail Quinlivan, Anna Mulcahy, Tara O’Brien (Capt), Meibh Daly. The third round is an away match to Drom and panel will be notified by text of the confirmed fixture. Training continues on Wednesday evenings in Ardcroney at 6.30pm. New members welcome.

U6, U8 and U10
Training continues every Wednesday evening in Ardcroney from 6.30 – 7.30pm. All players are reminded to return their membership forms and fee as soon as possible. New members welcome.
