 Junior A

Following a tough battle with Holycross in the semi-final at the weekend, the Kilruane girls emerged victorious by a 6-point margin. This win ensures a position in the Junior A County Final for the third year in succession. This final is fixed for Saturday 19th October and this time around Lorrha will provide the opposition. Having been on the losing side for the last two years the Kilruane girls will be determined not to re-visit this disappointment. They have trained hard all year under Pat Shanahan and his team, and will go into the final knowing they have a huge task ahead of them. Please come along and support these girls, who have worked so hard all year.

Under 18

In the next round of the championship the under 18 team face Clonoulty. Fixture yet to be confirmed.

U14 notes

The U14s suffered their first defeat in the u14 league last weekend. Kilruane played Ballina last Saturday afternoon in Ballina and were well-beaten by a stronger well-drilled team. They must now regroup and focus on their last match in the group stages against Burgess on Sunday next in Cloughjordan.

Under 8

The under 8 team finished their season with a very enjoyable blitz in Ardcroney last Saturday morning. Played in beautiful October sunshine the young girls faced Nenagh Eire Og, Burgess and Shannon Rovers. Many thanks to these three teams for participating. Well done to the twelve girls who played so well: Orna Daly, Niamh Franks, Leanne Gould, Lucy Gould, Hannah Grace, Ali O'Kelly, Christine Percy, Michaela Reddan, Annarose Scott, Aoibhe Spillane, Aoife Williams and Emma Williams. Huge thanks to Damien Franks who coached these girls all year and organised this blitz for them. Thanks to Michael Grace and Roisin Cahill who refereed the games. Thanks also to all parents who so willingly supplied food and refreshments for everyone. Thanks also to Danielle, Sarah, Marie and all who helped out on the day.
