AGM

The Annual General Meeting of the club took place on Sunday afternoon last in the GAA Complex Cloughjordan. Chairman Noel Coonan opened the meeting to a full house as has become customary in recent years. Secretary Ann O’Meara gave a report of activities during the year. Outgoing Treasurer Peter McCarthy presented a detailed Income & Expenditure Account and got a round of applause as he makes way after two hard-working years as Treasurer. Registrar Helen Heenan outlined the current record number of members in our club, which stands at 151 playing members. It was passed at the meeting that for 2013 onwards, girls must be attending Primary School before they can register with the club. The following officers were elected for 2013: Noel Coonan remains as Chairman, with Damien Franks coming in as Vice-Chair. Ann O’Meara remains as Secretary with Noreen Maher coming in as Assistant Secretary. Frances Cleary comes in as Treasurer, while Paul Callan remains as Assistant Treasurer. Paula McSherry continues in her role as Child Welfare Officer, while Sinead Williams found no replacement for the PRO role. An active Committee has also been put in place, which will no doubt offer huge support.

The following team managers were elected for 2013: Junior A Pat Shanahan, u18 David Reddan, u16 Philip Heenan. A Junior ‘B’ team will also be registered for 2013 due to the high numbers currently in the club. These managers will now put their management teams in place, which will be ratified at the next club meeting. Trainers/selectors for u6, u8, u10, u12 and u14 teams will also be put in place at the next club meeting. Anyone interested in helping out with any of these juvenile teams should give their name to one of the committee as soon as possible.
