The U12 panel had a busy weekend with both teams playing their first games in their respective group in the 11-a-side Go-Games competition. On Saturday, Kilruane played Silvermines in a very tough competitive match in Dolla. Scores were hard to come by and despite the girls best efforts, it was Silvermines who got the all important scores to win the game. Well done to all the girls who played with great heart despite the tough battle they encountered. Team: Meadhbh Heenan, Catherine Tighe, Emily Tierney, Tara Lillis (B), Aoife Coffey, Sophie O'Neill-Reidy, Amy Quinlisk, Eleanor Percy, Katie Gould, Aoife Sullivan, Britney Hogan.
On Sunday morning, Kilruane travelled to Ballina to play Ballina in their 1st round match. Both teams were evenly matched and all the girls gave great performances. Kilruane got the lucky breaks and made no mistake in taking their scores to win the match. Team: Orla Molloy, Amy Hill, Louise Torpey, Molly O'Brien, Tara Lillis (K), Laura Shinners, Bonny Conroy, Mickela McGrath, Leah Heffernan, Jessica Reddan, Cliodhna Nevin, Emma Conroy, Tara O'Brien, Katie O'Meara.
Both teams will be out this Saturday in their 2nd round games - details at training.
