Junior
The Juniors have qualified for the final of the Munster Summer League after a comprehensive 6-13 to 1-3 win over Limerick side Tournafulla in Ardcroney last Thursday evening. The Kilruane forwards were in top form, with Niamh Williams, Fiona Ryan and Tricia Hogan amassing 3-8 between them in the first half to Tournafulla's 1-3. In the 2nd half the backs remained tighter than ever, with Joyce Tooher, Hazel Keogh and Lisa Cahill ensuring that no scores were conceded. The midfield pairing of Shauna Tooher and Shauna Heffernan continued to develop and impress. The management team continued in their quest to develop the panel and the move of Mary Walsh to full forward in the 2nd half paid dividends, as did the introduction of 8 subs, most notably Maria Hogan who scored 1-3 when introduced. The final of this competition is fixed for Friday 13th July.
Thanks to Fiona Ryan, Carmel O'Brien and Katie Quinlisk who prepared the dressing rooms for the match. Many thanks also to the catering crew Frances Cleary, Mel Callan, Noel Coonan, Ann O'Meara, Ann Keogh and all those who provided food.
The long awaited County league semi-final against Thurles Sarsfields is expected to be played on Monday 2nd July. The winners will then take on Drom & Inch on Monday July 9th.
