Kilruane Camogie News
The Junior team had a good start to their league campaign with a win over Toomevara on Monday last. Toomevara took the lead in this close game played in very wet conditions. A well taken point from full-forward Jennifer Hodgins and a free from Fiona Ryan left the half time score at 0-2 to 0-1 in Kilruane’s favour. The 2nd half saw the Kilruane girls up their performance. Goalkeeper Eibhlin Enright and her defenders gave little away, while the hard work of midfield and forward lines resulted in 3 goals from the stick of Marcy Keogh. The next league match is against Burgess and takes place in Cloughjordan on Sunday 22nd April. The usual big numbers are expected at training sessions and boxercise in preparation for this.
The first round of the u16 championship takes place tomorrow Thursday night away to Clonoulty.
Kilruane played their first round of the u14 championship on Tuesday night against Thurles. Their next outing is next Tues 17th at home to Silvermines. All support greatly appreciated.
Kilruane played the last round of the group blitzes last Saturday in The Ragg against teams from Thurles, Borrisoleigh, Arravale Rovers, St. Mary’s Clonmel and Gortnahoe. All of the 23 players got a chance to play and display their hurling skills and gave fine performances, managing to win all of their games.
