U16
The U16’s are through to the County Final after a hard fought win over Thurles in the county semi-final on Friday night last in the Ragg. In a game where all scores were well earned, Kilruane got off to a great start with 2 goals in the first ten minutes, 1 from Maria Hogan and 1 from a free by Captain Sarah Coonan. The next ten minutes was end to end hurling with hard tackles given and taken and both teams scoring 0-1 each. Thurles got a goal just on half-time which then gave both teams great ammunition for the half-time talk. Thurles scored 2 quick points after the restart and the signs were looking ominous for Kilruane. However, Kilruane continued their intense battle and Sarah Coonan pointed 2 frees, another point by Thurles gave the dangerous 2 point lead. Sub Roisin Cahill raised the green flag for Kilruane with the last puck of the game, bringing the final score to 3-3 to 1-4.
We wish a speedy recovery to Eibhlin Enright who received a hand injury during the match.
The County Final against Cahir is fixed for Wednesday 31st August in The Camogie Field in The Ragg, please come along and support the team on the night.
