Kilruane Camogie News

Under 14
Following a great win over Silvermines our u14 team have now qualified for the County
Semi-final of the ‘B’ league. Centre-forward Katie Quinlisk was first to score for Kilruane
with a powerful strike to the back of the net. However Silvermines were quick to respond
with a point and a goal to put them in front. Kilruane were working hard and missed several
goal chances before Roisin Cahill tore through the Silvermines defence and got a vital
score to put Kilruane 2-0 to 1-1 up at half-time.

The 2nd half saw a huge improvement in
Kilruane’s performance.  The 6 defenders gave very little away, with Sarah O’Sullivan and
Maria Hogan in particular clearing everything that came their way. Up front full-forward
Roisin Cahill caused all sorts of problems for the Silvermines defence and notched up a
further 3-2. Maura Maher, Katie Cooney and Chelsea Cooney also added their names to
the score-sheet. This was a great team performance.

Team: Becky Hill, Georgiana Finn, Emma Cleary, Sarah O’Sullivan, Chelsea Cooney, Maria
Hogan, Lianne O’Kelly, Niamh Costello, Chloe Morkan, Mary Grace, Katie Quinlisk, Shauna
Maher, Maura Maher, Roisin Cahill and Katie Cooney. Subs: Sorcha Heenan, Grainne
Gibson and Eibhlin Enright.

Congratulations
To club secretary Ann O’Meara and John on the birth of their baby boy last week.
