Under 14
Following a loss to Moneygall in the first round of the league, the u14 team went on to
record a win against St. Cronin’s in Roscrea.  Kilruane won the toss and captain Maria
Hogan opted to play with the wind.  Kilruane got off to a great start and were well on top for
the first half, with Katie Quinlisk at full forward in great scoring form and creating all kinds
of problems for the Roscrea defence.

The Kilruane defence was working well, with Emilee
Austin, Maria Hogan and Sarah O'Sullivan in particular letting very little past.  The half-
time score had Kilruane well on top and Maura Maher added to this lead with a goal at the
start of the 2nd half after good work from Chloe Mokan.  However, this was to be Kilruane's
last score for a long time as St. Cronin’s staged an exceptional comeback to come within
1 point of Kilruane with only minutes to go.  In the dying minutes Katie Quinlisk was fouled
twice and free-taker Roisin Cahill coolly scored 1-1 to leave the final result as a 5-point
win for Kilruane.
