Schools Hurling
Cloughjordan N.S. qualified for the pate final with a good win against Borrisokane N.S. on a 4-2 to 1-1 scoreline. In the final they will play Borrisoleigh N.S. . Team: Keelan Troy, Andrew Hodgins, Conor Austin, Brian Dooley Andrew Brennan ( 3-2), Jonathan Powell, Anton Banaghan, Jack Farrell, Cian Darcy, Mark Tierney, Kieran Brereton (1-0) and Dean O Meara.
U-14 Hurling
The u-14 hurlers showed a marked improvement on their previous display and were unlucky not to get at least a share of the points in their second round against Moneygall but a late goal snatched victory for the home side on 5-2 to 3-5 scoreline. Team: Aidan Boyle, Jack Banaghan, P.J. Cleary, Sean Cleary, John Healy, Kieran Cahill, Tomás Hogan, Robert Ward (0-2), David Williams(1-0), Anton Banaghan (1-0), Raymond Kelly, Ian McSherry (0-1), Dean O Meara, Patrick Ryan and Andrew Brennan (1-1). In the third round they were beaten away to Nenagh on a 4-9 to 0-8 scoreline. Scorers: Robert Ward (0-3), David Wlliams (0-3), Andrew Bennan (0-1) and Jamie Heffernan (0-1).
U-16 Hurling
The Dan O Meara u-16 hurling tournament commences on this Thursday evening. Kilruane MacDonaghs face J.K. Brackens in MacDonagh Park at 7.00 p.m. while Shinrone host Borris-Kilcotton of Laois at the same time in Shinrone. The plate final takes place at 12 o clock on Saturday in MacDonagh Park and this will be followed by the final at 1.15 p.m. . The juvenile club would like to thank Jim and Denis O Meara who presented a cup and shield in memory of their late brother Dan who died two years ago. Dan played all grades of hurling and football with Kilruane MacDonaghs before moving to Carrick-on-Suir in the early seventies where he thew his lot in with the Carrick Swan club. He served the Swan club with distinction,both as a player and a selector, but he never forgot his roots in Kilruane and was a regular attender at games involving MacDonaghs.
U-16 Hurling
In the championship the u-16 hurlers are scheduled to play Nenagh on Monday in Nenagh.
U-10 Hurling
The u-10 hurlers entertained Roscrea in MacDonagh Park and had a very enjoyable game with great skill being shown by both sides. Open Night
The club is holding an open night in Thomas MacDonagh Community Centre and Sports Complex on Friday June 29th. The clubroom will be open on that night and visitors can view the fantastic collection of photographs and other club memorabilia as well the facilities in the Complex itself. Club officials will be present and refreshments will be served to everybody. Proceedings will commence with the u-12 championship match between Kilruane MacDonaghs and Borris-Iliegh.
