Senior
A 1-24 to 2-15 loss against Nenagh in the County quarter-final brought our season to a close. After a very even first half, Nenagh lead 0-14 to 1-10 at the interval. Thomas Cleary scored the goal for the Magpies in the 13th minute. Just before the interval, Kilruane suffered a major setback when Jerome Cahill was forced to retire with a reoccurrence of the hamstring injury. Niall O’Meara also sustained an injury, and he had to be relocated to the attack for the second half.
Nenagh got a grip on proceedings in the third quarter, and with nine minutes of normal time left, they had edged four points clear. Kieran Cahill surged up field to finish a move to the net to leave the minimum between the sides. Two minutes later, a Jake Morris goal from a penalty put Nenagh in the driving seat once more. MacDonaghs dominated possession in the closing minutes, but the Nenagh defence held firm.
