Junior

In the fifth round of the championship, we lost 0-17 to 1-13 against Kiladangan in Nenagh. We led 1-6 to 0-7 at the break with the goal coming from Kevin Shinners in the 12th minute. The teams were level in added time, but Kiladangan scored the winner in the 65th minute.

U19

In the semi-final of the ‘A’ football championship, we lost 2-11 to 1-7 against Newport in MacDonagh Park. The visitors led 1-6 to 1-3 at the interval. Their second goal put them in a commanding position, and they emerged deserving winners.

Minor

In the second round of the championship, we had a 6-22 to 1-15 home victory over an understrength Nenagh side.

Sub: Stasis Setikas (1-0).

In the third round, we were away to Ballina.

 

U15

In the third round of the North/West League, we travelled to Roscrea and recorded a 3-19 to 0-20 victory. In the fourth round, we are at home to Kiladangan this Thursday, 11th July, at 7.30pm.

 

U13

Our ‘A’ team got the better of Moneygall in round 3 while our ‘D’ team saw off the challenge of Borris-Ileigh.

 

Cúl Camp

100 children attended our first Cúl Camp in MacDonagh Park last week. Thanks to head coach Abigail Quinlivan and her assistant coaches Ava Gaynor, Ali O’Kelly, Cian Moyles, Orla Cleary, Diarmuid O’Donoghue (Burgess), Robyn O’Dwyer (Burgess), Katie Ryan (Silvermines), Abbie O’Dwyer (Silvermines), Marie Ryan (Burgess), Eoghan Doughan (Moneygall) and Austin Duff (Toomevara),  who organised a week of fun-filled activities for the participants. They got invaluable help from Donncha O’Meara, Tommy O’Meara, Michael Hennelly, Alison Carroll, Gemma Gaynor and Clodagh Shinners. Thanks to parents Niamh Corrigan, Lisa O’Sullivan, Eilish O’Connor and Sharon Byrne, who assisted with the supervision. Co-ordinator Michael O’Meara ensured that everything ran smoothly during the week. The second Cúl Camp will commence on Monday, 15th July.

 

Camogie

Congratulations to the Kilruane MacDonaghs Dubh U12 camogie team, who overcame Slieve Felim Raparees to win the Tier 2 Cup final.

 

Summer Camp

Niall O’Meara’s annual Summer Camp takes place in Ardcroney NS from Monday, 22nd to Friday 26th July.  Monday to Thursday the Camp starts at 9.00am and finishes at 2.00pm while Friday has an earlier finishing time of 1.00pm. Contact Niall 0862587189 for more details.

Last Sunday, MacDonagh Park hosted the North senior semi-final between Toomevara and Nenagh. Thanks to JP McKenna, who provided his field for parking.

 

Tipperary Draw

The new Tipperary Draw commences in July with a €500,000 prize fund, 10 monthly draws, 10 weekly draws and a total of 500 prizes. The star prize in July is €30,000 while the first prize  every month from August to April is €20,000. Since its inception in 1988, the Tipperary Draw has contributed handsomely to club coffers, and  over the years, our subscribers have scooped some of the biggest prizes on offer. With major plans to develop a second playing pitch and a 1km walkway, the Tipperary Draw will be a critical source of revenue for the club. We thank all who have supported the Draw, and we look forward to your continued backing.

Bingo

The weekly Bingo session continues on Saturday night in the Fr. O’Meara Centre, Kilruane at 8.00pm. The jackpot is now a very attractive €1,750.

 

Community Games

Congratulations to the Cloughjordan U11 tag rugby mixed team and the U12 girls soccer team, who won their respective Munster finals.

The club extends sympathy to the family of the late Seamus Bourke, Silvermines and formerly MacDonagh Avenue, Cloughjordan.
