In the third round of the County League, we drew with Borris-Ileigh in MacDonagh Park. We put 1-13 on the board in reply to 0-16 from the visitors. Borris-Ileigh led by 0-4 to 0-1 after seven minutes  and had opened a five-point gap by the 19th minute. MacDonaghs clawed their way back into the game as halftime approached and were a point in arrears as the teams adjourned to the dressing rooms. In the 51st minute, Kilruane hit the front for the first time when Conor Cleary rattled the net after taking a pass from the impressive Kian O’Kelly. Heading into injury time, Borris-Ileigh led by the minimum, but Willie Cleary slotted over the equaliser from a free to leave both teams with a share of the points.
